Summer Makeup Menu
Summer is here, sort of. This is England so it's a rare occasion for the sun to come out for a full day. I did a Makeup Menu for Spring so I thought I'd continue the trend for the other seasons.
My makeup for Summer is generally quite similar to Spring, but I've tried to include different products. I still use most of the makeup in that post so do go check that out here.
Base:
One primer/base comes to mind when I think of summer, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. There is something so glorious about the product. It gives such a healthy natural glow and works well for pretty much every skin type.
In terms of foundation, I definitely go lighter in both coverage and application. Obviously I'm going to include the Estée Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release as it's incredibly light. If you want more coverage, then I recommend the Bourjois CC Cream because whilst it's a CC cream, it offers more coverage than you think. I also love the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer because it offers me that extra coverage where I need it.
Cheeks:
Bronzer and cream blush. That's pretty much all I use on my cheeks in Summer. I tend to switch between a cream and powder bronzer both from the Bourjois Chocolate range. It depends on the day really. Both offer a natural sun kissed look. For cream blush, I also have two options but with slightly different formula's. Firstly is the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush which is your traditional cream blush. It's soft and dewy and easy to apply. It's not the most long lasting, but it is lovely nonetheless.
My second option is the Bourjois Aqua Blush range which is as close to perfection as I've found for this type of product. The formula is creamy and soft but they're so long lasting. Unlike most liquid blushes, they're easy to apply and blend.
Eyes:
In my previous Makeup Menu, I included mostly cream eyeshadows. I definitely recommend those, but if you prefer powder formulas, Makeup Geek is all you'll ever need. I love every shade I have, but the shades that scream Summer to me are Cinderella, Cosmopolitan, Grandstand and Flamethrower. I've done a post of my entire Makeup Geek collection, including swatches, which you can find here.
Lips:
It's always so hard to narrow down lip products. There are just so many good ones! My current favourite combination is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk with the Soap and Glory Gloss Stick in Nudist for a soft pink dewy lip. I also still love the Revlon Lip Butters, particularly Berry Smoothie. If you want a bolder lip, I really recommend the Bourjois ColourBoost Lip Crayon in Fuchsia Libre and the Revlon HD Lipstick in Poinsettia which is vibrant poppy red.
I could go on and on for this post. There are just so many options. Let me know what products you recommend for the Summer.
Thanks for reading,
Avani

DeleteI really need to buy some MUG shadows! I have heard so many great things about the CC cream too, but I have had a bad experience with Bourjois base products in the past. Great post x

I agree, you do need MUG shadows, they're just so good! The CC cream is the only foundation I've tried from Bourjois. To be honest, the shade range of their bases isn't great which always puts me off others.
