Tried and Tested: Morphe Elite Brushes

A couple of months ago I reviewed a few Morphe Brushes. If you read that post, you'll know that I wasn't really blown away by them. I've been reading multiple blog posts and discovered that the Elite range in particular is excellent. Today, that's what I'm reviewing.

The quality of Elite range is definitely superior to the original three I tried. The brushes are softer and work so much better. I love how long the handles are. I know it's probably not the most practical for travelling, but I find longer brushes allow for more control. For a heavier application, you can hold the brush closer to the bristles and for a lighter touch, you can hold it much further up the handle.

I also like that these brushes work for creams and powders. I use a mixture of both, especially in the summer, so it's nice to have a few brushes that work just as well for both. The three I got were the E28, E27 and the E4. The E28 (£5.50) is a medium sized pointed crease brush. It works well for building up colour directly into the crease, or for blending out cream eyeshadows into the crease. I also think it's excellent for blending shadow on the lower lashline. Since it's tapered to a strong point, you can get a very precise application.

The E27 (£5.50) is a larger fluffier eyeshadow blending brush. It's perfect for blending out the edges of my eye makeup. I won't lie, my Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush is better, but it's a completely different price and made of completely different hairs. I think the E27 would work well for under the eye concealer, and just concealer in general. It's small so you can get the concealer right where you need it, but it's also fluffy so you can achieve a flawless blend. You could even use it for an incredibly sharp contour.

Finally, the E4 (£11.50) is an excellent cheek brush. It's a similar shape to the Zoeva Sheer Cheek in that it's angled so you can use it for nearly everything to do with the face. I think this works really well for cream cheek products. I also like to use it to blend over the cheeks after I've applied the product to ensure there are no harsh lines.

All three brushes wash and dry well. I think they're just generally better quality than the Morphe Brushes I had previously purchased. I'm definitely going to pick more up of the Elite range if possible.
