I've got a secret. This is my first Soap and Glory makeup product. I know! It's taken me long enough. I keep hearing wonderful things about their makeup line so I thought I'd pick up their Supercat Liquid Eyeliner (£6).
I have a love/hate relationship with liquid eyeliner. I think it can look stunning and frame the eyes in a way you just don't get with eyeshadow or pencil. However, it can be tricky to get a precise line and sometimes, I just can't get it right!
I was pleasantly surprised with the Supercat Liner. It's very easy to create a simple black line and if I'm feeling fancy (or I have half an hour to spare because yes, it takes me that long) to create a simple wing. You can literally turn it on its side to create your line. It's almost as if it's doing the work for you. I also like that you can build it up easily and the line won't look jagged or uneven.
The nib is quite stiff which I normally don't like but with this pen, it doesn't seem to be a problem. The colour is perfect for me but if I was being really picky, I'd say it could be more intense.
My only gripe, it that it transfers like crazy on me. I don't even have oily lids but this seems to transfer onto my lids every time I wear it. I've tried rubbing in primer to the lash line and setting the liner with black eyeshadow but it still transfers. It's not as if the formula isn't long lasting, because it is. At the end of the day, the line is still there. However, there are also very faint (but noticeable to me) black smudges on my lid. If you have any suggestions to stop the transferring, please tell me! It's the only liner I've tried which is somewhat comparable to the YSL Shocking eyeliner. They are both very easy to use.
If I'm only wearing liquid liner for a couple of hours, I'll use this. But I can't rely on it if I'm doing a heavy eye because I don't want it to interfere with that.
I think I will try more Soap and Glory makeup products because this isn't a total disappointment. I do love you Supercat Liner but could you not transfer!
(You know your crazy when you talk to your makeup products. *Shakes head.*)
Have you tried this liner? Did it transfer on you?
Thanks for reading,
Avani
