Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Concealer: Worth the Hype?

The Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Concealer (£7.99) is a very hyped about product. It's been on every blog I read and it's loved by many. I wonder if it's worth the hype....

The texture of the concealer is what I love most about this. It's incredibly light making it a breeze to blend. Since it is so light, it works perfectly for the delicate under eye area. It doesn't exaggerate lines and it doesn't crease too badly. Concealer always creases under my eyes so I'm used to paying extra attention and setting that area. 

Despite its name, it doesn't erase my dark circles. I need a fuller coverage concealer in the inner corners, but it does brighten everything up. The shade range is bitterly disappointing, with a mere two on offer. I got Nude which definitely doesn't match my skin tone, but that works in its favour because I use it as a highlighting concealer.

The applicator is a really soft almost fluffy sponge. I use it to apply the concealer, but it doesn't do much to blend it out. Instead of blending it out, it adds more concealer. I prefer to use a fluffy brush like the Real Techniques Setting Brush to blend it out.

Although it does have its downfalls, I do like the product. Whether it's worth the hype, that's hard to say. I'm not sure it's as good as everyone says, but it is a lovely concealer if you can work with the shades.
