Monthly Favourites: January 2016
Just typing the title of this post is scary; we're already done with January! What?! When?! How?! Yep, it's already time for the first monthly favourites of the year.
I've got three nail favourites this month which is unheard of me. First up is Rimmel's 60 Second Super Shine nail polish in Black Cherries which is a beautiful cherry red, would you believe it? It has a very subtle red shimmer running through it which makes me love it even more. The formula is lovely and thick making it very easy to apply opaque.
Next up is the OPI nail polish in Live and Let Die which came in a set of four around the release on Skyfall, so I'm guessing it was a limited edition shade, sorry about that. This shade is described as a jet black with glitter. I agree with the glitter, not about the colour. I'd call it a very very dark green with a golden green glitter. Either way, it's stunning and looks gorgeous on. It dries really fast and offers a streak free even finish. With all the dark nail polishes, I've been really enjoying the Nail HQ Base Coat.* It dries quickly and ensures whatever polish I wear, lasts that much longer.
If you saw this post, then my next product will come as no surprise. The Becca/Jaclyn Hill Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop is utterly beautiful. It's an intense peach toned champagne gold that suits so many skin tones and is a breeze to blend. Please give this one a try!
I've been loving a soft contour this month and for that, I always go for the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour Kit in Medium Dark because it's just about the right shade for me. It's so easy to blend that I would go as far as to call it fool proof.
Finally for beauty products, I'm giving a little shout out to my holy grail hand cream, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Mans. This stuff is all kinds of hand healing goodness. If they're dry or chapped or itchy, get a tube of this and slather it on. You won't be sorry.
Before I sign off, I thought I'd add a new segment to my monthly favourites posts and feature a favourite blogger each month. This month it's Jasmine from Jasmine Talks Beauty. I've been reading her blog for a while and I have fallen in love with it. We have very similar tastes in makeup and everything she writes about automatically goes on my wish list. Her photos are beautiful and I love her style of writing. I definitely recommend checking her blog out.
So that's it for the first month of 2016. I'm pleased to say that it's been a good one! Let me know how yours has been and what products you've been loving!
Thanks for reading,
Avani
