The Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes (£8.99) are some of my favourite blushes. They also happen to be dubbed dupes for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes (£32). Today, I'm going to put that to the test.
The idea behind both products is that they're a blush/highlighter hybrid that offer a flush of colour as well as a subtle glow. The Max Factor blushes offer more intense pigmentation, whereas the Hourglass ones have a softer, more buildable finish. I actually prefer a blush to be more buildable in terms of colour pay off because it makes it easier to control. No one wants a clown face at the end of the day!
Both blushes contain shimmer, but the Hourglass ones are more refined and sophisticated. The lasting power is more or less the same for both formula's. I don't have colour to colour dupes, but in terms of formula, they're very similar. I wouldn't call the Creme Puff blushes an exact dupe, I think the Hourglass ones look a little more natural on the skin, but they are close enough. If you've wanted to try the Hourglass blushes, but you're not sure if they're for you, maybe go for the Max Factor ones because they are significantly cheaper and less of an investment. You don't necessarily need both, but if you're a blush addict (cough, like me, cough) then you probably will want both; they are gorgeous!
If I had to choose, I think I'd probably opt for the Hourglass blushes mainly for the fact that I don't even need to think when I apply it. They're so easy to blend that you just can't go wrong. That being said, the Max Factor blushes are a very worthy opponent.
Do you think the Max Factor blushes are dupes for Hourglass?

Hourglass is so expensive! I'm not sure I'd buy their blushes individually because of that. The Max Factor blushes are such a great alternative :) x
DeleteI have to say I do think the Hourglass blushes are in a league of their own in terms of texture and ease of application. However it's always nice to have more affordable alternatives and there are definitely a couple of good ones in Max Factor's line :) xx

I agree, the texture is so finely milled and I just love how easily they blend out. I do love Max Factor's Gorgeous Berries and Alluring Rose though! x
DeleteI've been waiting for somebody to make this comparison! I've never tried the Hourglass offerings because they're so expensive, but I do own one of the Max Factor ones and absolutely love it!xx

To be honest, I only purchased the Hourglass blushes because they came in a palette with lots of their other products. I'm not sure I could justify spending that much individually unless I absolutely loved a shade. The Max Factor ones are such a good alternative :) x
