Mac Fix Plus vs Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

I've noticed that a lot people want to know the difference or the similarities between Urban Decay's All Nighter spray and Mac's Fix Plus spray, so I've decided to do a comparison post.

All Nighter is a setting spray that works to lock your makeup into place. It works in a similar way to setting powder, but you completely avoid the cake face situation. All Nighter also offers temperature control so no matter what the weather, your makeup will last and stay in place. It works fantastically and I love it. 

Fix Plus is a fixing spray. You spray it before and after you've done your makeup and it helps to smooth the skin and prep it for makeup. It's a great one to use if you've made any mistakes, a spritz of this, a bit of blending and you're sorted. If you've gone overboard on the powder, it helps take down the cake. If you need to freshen your makeup, you can spritz it on your brush or sponge and re-blend. It also adds a lovely natural dewy finish to the skin. It's a genius product that I couldn't be without. 

The main difference between the two is that Fix Plus doesn't increase the longevity of your makeup. Sure it helps to refresh your skin and reinvigorate your makeup, but it doesn't make it last longer. I also find the spray on Fix Plus to be just terrible compared to, well, anything. It literally squirts you in the face. I have to decant it into a spray bottle to make it usable. It's a bit of an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. I still find All Nighter to be a finer mist though. I don't know if it is something to do with the difference in formula, but there is noticeable difference when you spray it. That being said, you can use both to intensify your eyeshadow and if you use All Nighter, it will lock it into place too.

To sum up, Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray and Mac's Fix Plus are very different products. If I had to choose, I don't think I could. I use both all the time, usually one after the other. They both have different functions and work excellently. What can I say, when it comes to face sprays, I want them all!
