Tried and Tested: Origins Eye Doctor Eye Cream
As mentioned in my recent skincare routines, I've been cheating on my beloved Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion with the Origins Eye Doctor Eye Cream (£28.50). Let's see if I've made the right choice!
The texture of this eye cream is beautiful. It's thick and creamy without being greasy. It also sinks into the skin very quickly. I'm used to a serum texture under the eyes and was worried that this would feel thick and heavy in comparison. Boy was I wrong. This feels really nourishing and soothing without leaving that heavily moisturised feeling behind. I think this would be a good one for mature skins because it is very hydrating. If you're in your teens, then I recommend something much lighter. You don't need to use such an intense eye cream at that age unless your skin does get that dry under the eyes.
In terms of how this compares to the Estee Lauder eye serum, I think I may prefer it. It just feels that bit more hydrating and soothing. It doesn't erase under eye bags or dark circles. No eye cream or serum will in my opinion. That is more to do with sleep and probably genetics. However, it does leave the under eye area perfectly plumped and ready for concealer. I do find that concealer sits well on top of this and that it actually looks better. I think that's due to me hydrating the area a bit more.
I take a small amount of this and pop it under the eyes using my ring finger. I also take a bit on the eyelids because they can get really dry. This does the job and keeping it hydrated during the day and night. I also quite like the scent. It smells of cucumbers. It's very light and fresh.
Taking all this into consideration, I made the right choice moving onto this. It's a good eye cream. It's as simple as that. It's also only £28.50. I know what you're thinking, only £28.50?! Yes that's expensive, but considering I used to spend about £46 on the Estee Lauder one, this is a bit of a bargain in comparison.
Origins have done it again!
What's your favourite eye cream?
Thanks for reading,
Avani
