With September drawing to a close, it's time to round up all the things I've been loving this month.
Makeup:
I've got quite a few makeup favourites this month so I'm going to start with base. I've have been loving my Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation in 'Hazelnut Beige' recently. This is my Holy Grail foundation. It's full coverage but light on the skin and leaves a nice glow. It's not dewy but it's not matte. It makes you look radiant. I've really been enjoying applying it with the Real Techniques Blush Brush. I know that sounds weird but because it's such a fluffy brush, the finish is very flawless but still natural. Sticking with the face, I have been obsessed with The Balm's Mary Loumanizer. It is the perfect gold champagne highlight.
Moving onto the eyes, it's been all about the Maybelline Colour Tattoos in 'Metallic Pomegranate' and 'On and On Bronze.' They are perfect on their own or underneath eyeshadows. The formula is super creamy but once it sets, it's not going anywhere! 'On and On Bronze' is a metallic taupe/bronze which looks gorgeous underneath a gold eyeshadow. 'Metallic Pomegranate" is pretty much Autumn in a pot; a deep purple/red with gold flecks. I love applying these with my finger and blending them out with the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush. This is the perfect eyeshadow brush; it does everything. It's fluffy enough for blending, but if you turn it on its side, you can pack on colour. It also works really well at sheering out cream eyeshadows. I definitely recommend it.
Finally for makeup, I have been loving the Laura Mercier Lip Gloss in 'Bare Pink.' Now, this shade is far too light for me to wear on its own. However, on top of pretty much every lipstick I have, this looks great. It gives a beautiful sheen to lips and makes them look a lot fuller.
Other:
This month I have a book favourite for you and it's 'Handle with Care' by Jodi Picoult. It's a gripping tale about a woman whose daughter was born with a condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta and she decides to sue her doctor for wrongful birth. The only catch is that her doctor is her best friend.
The novel shows the perspective of everyone affected by the lawsuit. It's a wonderful book and it reminded me how much I like Jodi Picoult as an author. I've read quite a few of her books and she's never afraid to tackle the big issues. Her books are definitely ones that leave you thinking about what you would do in those situations. I highly recommend checking out her novels.
That's it for another month! I'm really excited for the next few months because I love Autumn/Winter. I love the clothes, the weather and of course the C word!
