My 2017 Beauty Favourites

The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Acid Toning Solution, Alpha H Liquid Gold, The Ordinary Squalane, Rosie For Autograph Lip Glossy Supermodel Smile, Kiko Creamy Lipstick Gossamer Emotion, Hourglass Strobe Lighting Palette, Illamasqua LookFantastic Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

There are only a few days left of the year, which means it's time to roundup my 2017 beauty favourites.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5:

This Hyaluronic Acid has replaced all of my serums. It's so good at hydrating the skin and my skin definitely thanks me when I use this. I use 2-3 drops because I have very very dry skin, and it does wonders. It's like instant relief.

The Ordinary Plant Derived Squalane:

Another standout product from The Ordinary is their Squalane. It's almost a cross between a serum and an oil. It feels amazing on the skin and just makes it glow. It's hydrating and great if you have any dry patches.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution:

I've only been using this for a couple of months, but what a difference it has made. It makes the skin really smooth and clear and is just so darn effective. My pores look smaller, marks are fading and my skin looks brighter. It's a little stronger than Pixi Glow Tonic but I find that works in its favour.

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm:

After using this, there's no way I could back to any other cleansing balm. This is just so luxurious and nourishing, yet it really does get the skin clean. I don't use this to remove my makeup, it's too expensive for me to do that. I much prefer to use it to cleanse my actual skin. Although it is expensive, it does last a long time, even if you use it everyday.

Alpha H Liquid Gold:

I miss this Glycolic Acid exfoliating treatment. I haven't managed to repurchase it yet, but months later, I'm still thinking about it. You pour a little on a cotton pad and swipe it across the face like a toner. To get the most out of it, don't put anything else on top. No creams, serums or oils. It feels a little odd, but the difference it makes to the skin is like nothing else. My skin is brighter, clearer and so much smoother. It's a real wow product.

Illamasqua LookFantastic Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette:

This eyeshadow quad is so very beautiful. Four smooth pigmented shades that blend well in a mix of matte and shimmer finishes. I love the vibrant red shade Vernau. It's a striking colour that you can wear as a statement, or tone it down and softly blend it into the crease. It's stunning.

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette:

Of course I'm including Hourglass blushes in my yearly favourites. What else is there?! I'm pretty sure the only blushes I've used this year have been Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes. I've been particularly loving their Strobe Lighting palette. It's no longer available, but you can get a couple of the shades separately. I adore the shade Brilliant Nude which is a lovely bronzy blush. It's got that whole sun kissed vibe going on.

Rosie For Autograph Lip Glossy in Supermodel Smile:

I discovered this glossy lip crayon fairly late in the year, but it's become a fast favourite. The 'my lips but better' shade is so easy to wear and goes with every look. It's very flattering and adds a nice bit of volume to the lips, without any uncomfortable tingling.

KIKO Creamy Lipstick in Gossamer Emotion 108:

This is one of the handful of lipsticks I've been reaching for over the past year. It's a very wearable natural medium pink. It does have a fine shimmer running through it, but that doesn't really show on the lips. It's very comfortable to wear and is really flattering.

So that rounds up all my 2017 beauty favourites. It's been a good year for new discoveries. I've tried brands that have long been on my list, and have found products that I can see myself using for years to come.

What's your standout beauty product of 2017?

  1. Nice picks! I love the Hourglass blushes, and Brilliant Nude is next on my list to buy! Am keen to try a bunch of products from The Ordinary too! My standout beauty product of the year is possibly the Becca Sunlit Bronzer I purchased a couple of months ago - it's so natural-looking!
