My Goals and Aspirations
I recently realised that I've opened up about a lot of personal things like my mental (and physical) health, but not much else. There is more to me than that. So today I thought I'd share my long term goals and aspirations.
A little context for you. I'm 22 and unfortunately unable to work at the moment due to my ME/CFS. Because of that, I didn't go to university. On the plus side, I figured out exactly what I want to do with my life and started my blog. Swings and roundabouts.
I guess we should start with the blog. I'm going to be honest. I would love to earn some money from my blog. I've been doing it for 3 years, haven't earned a penny. And I'm fine with that, for now. The nature of my ME means that for now, traditional full time work isn't an option. So it would be amazing to earn a little money from my blog in the meantime.
Saying that, I do have career goals outside of blogging, although blogging does come into it. I want to be a makeup artist. I love makeup. I could do it all day, everyday. As soon as I'm physically able to, I want to train as a makeup artist. I want to do editorial and event makeup but I also want to do film and TV makeup. Which leads me to my next aspiration. I really want to act. Ever since I was younger, I would find myself completely absorbed in films. And not just the main feature. I would always rush to by DVDs for the special features. I find the whole process fascinating and I'd love to be involved. Acting is something I've wanted to do for years. I just love how you can connect with a character, sometimes more than 'real' people. You know those films that just stick with you, I want to make those.
Another goal of mine is do some philanthropic work. I'd love to start a charity for research into ME and to help those suffering with the disease. I'd love to work with mental health charities as mental wellbeing is just as important as physical wellbeing. It would also be great to do some form of conservation work. I'm also really interested in getting into politics. I guess you could say I want to do it all.
Life has a funny way of showing you what you want and what's important. I never thought I'd want to do something as unpredictable as everything I've just mentioned. My personality is definitely to have a plan for everything and stick to it. If I hadn't become unwell, I probably would have gone to university and done something in finance. There's nothing wrong with that, but it wasn't my dream. Life is way too short to spend everyday doing something you don't love.
Tell me some of your goals and aspirations. I'd love to know more about you.
Avani
xoxo
