Monthly Favourites: January 2015

Welcome to the first monthly favourites of 2015. There's a real mix of old and new favourites this month, so let's get started.

Makeup:

I've fallen head over heels for the Beauty Blender. This sponge makes foundation look beautiful. I've used it with higher and lighter coverage foundations and it works well for both. Your base is left looking very natural but flawless. It minimises the appearances of pores and is an all round gem. If you want a more in depth review, you can check out this post. I will be posting a comparison with the Real Techniques sponge soon. I think it will be really interesting to see how they compare.

Left- Beauty Blender Dry
Right- Beauty Blender Wet

The Bourjois Java Rice Powder has quickly become my favourite setting powder. It makes my foundation last longer but leaves a luminous finish. It's the best of both worlds, and for £9.99, it's a bit of a bargain!

Body:

Nothing beats dry skin like this duo; the Dermasuri Exfoliating Mitt and the Pure Potions Skin Salvation Ointment.* I had some rather unpleasant dry patches due to the winter weather so I cracked out my Dermasuri. I think I reviewed this back in the summer and using it again reminded me why I named it the best body exfoliator. It buffs away dry skin with ease but doesn't feel harsh at all. It's far more effective than any scrub and it's a lot easier to use!

Right- Pure Potions Skin Salvation*

To add some moisture back into said dry patches, I've been using the Pure Potions Skin Salvation*. It's a thick balm to oil texture that sinks in beautifully and hydrates very well. I love this balm because it doesn't contain any harsh ingredients and it's honestly better than any do it all balm I've tried.

So there you have it, my 2015 January favourites. I can't believe we are already done with the first month of the year. I hope January was kind to you and I'll see you on Wednesday where I'll be sharing my thoughts on the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.

What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading,
Avani
