Review: L'oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks

When L'oreal released their Rouge Caresse Lipsticks (£7.99), I was very intrigued. I'm not going to lie but their advertising for these lipsticks was spot on. I don't know who came up with the description of these but they are really good at their job! They're described as 'weightless sensation, luminous and fresh colour, meltingly soft application, pop of colour, flutter on your lips and a feather light feel.' I told you they were well described!

Firstly, I completely agree with the meltingly soft application part, it does feel very smooth as if you were melting the product onto your lips. It sounds strange but I have yet to try a lipstick that applies like this. The texture is extremely light and a complete pleasure to apply.

The colours are gorgeous too! I have three shades; 'Rebel Red,' 'Aphrodite Scarlett,' and 'Rock 'n Mauve.' 'Rebel Red' is a beautiful sheer red that is perfect if you want to rock red lips but aren't quite ready to go full on opaque red. 'Aphrodite Scarlett' is my favourite of the bunch, a stunning pink that's bright but not in your face and really helps achieve a fresh faced spring look. 'Rock 'n Mauve' is probably my least favourite. The colour isn't very wearable on it's own because it pulls up quite purple on the lips. To make this work for me, I top it with a gloss to tone down the purple.

The lipsticks have a glossy finish and are a very hydrating. In my opinion, they are the perfect everyday lip product, especially if you have the tendency to run late! You can throw it on whilst you're walking (or running) out the door, without needing a mirror. Well done L'oreal, these lipsticks are amazing! They're also a bit of a bargain, particularly if you wait for a good old Boots 3 for 2 sale!

Have you tried these? If so, what colours do you recommend? Let me know if there are any other tinted lip balmy lipsticks I should check out!

Thanks for reading,
Avani
