For today's post I thought I would try something a little different. With Spring well under way and Summer just around the corner, I thought I'd share my favourite everyday makeup look. It's light, fresh and perfect as the weather gets warmer. I also stuck to drugstore products making it super affordable.
For the base I chose the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (£9.99) as it's light and has a satin finish. I apply it with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to ensure everything is nicely blended. I also added a touch of concealer under the eyes and on any pesky blemishes. I usually blend out concealer with my fingers and then go over with the Expert Face brush again.
For blush I went for the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Charmed Enchanted. I love this blush because although it's a cream, the finish is more like a powder making it perfect for dry and oily skin. I use the Real Techniques Stipling Brush to apply and blend it. To warm up the face and give a healthy glow I used the Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow. This is very similar to the famous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks but more wearable in my opinion. It's not crazy shimmery and just gives your skin a beautiful sun kissed glow. I like to apply it with my Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush because it doesn't pick up too much product. If needed, I also go in with a bronzer, I'm using the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer in the shade 52. Again, I apply it all over the face with the same Duo Fiber brush to avoid putting on too much product. I don't really contour that much with this look but I do pop a little under the cheekbones to add a tiny bit of definition to my otherwise football face.
I kept the eyes really simple and used only two products. Firstly, I used the Bourjois Colour Edition Eyes in 03 Petale de Glace all over the lid. I use my finger to do this as it works better than a brush for this product. I usually go for a couple layers to add light to the eyes. For my lashes, I used the Max Factor False Lash Effect in Black Brown as it makes them look really long and opens up the eyes well. I didn't curl my lashes but if you have fairly straight lashes, then I would recommend it. For the brows I just ran a pencil through any sparse areas and brushed them out, keeping them natural.
Finally, for lips I used the L'oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Aphrodite Scarlet. It's a beautiful pink and really livens up the face. The formula is very hydrating and it has a glossy finish. It's very low maintenance so you can easily reapply it throughout the day.
So there you have it, my everyday Spring/Summer look. Obviously the products are interchangeable to what suits your complexion so you can just use this as a guide. It sounds like a lot but in reality, it takes me about 10 minutes to do. The key is to keep everything subtle, light and simple.
Let me know if you want to see more posts like this as it's a little different to the product reviews that I tend to stick to.
Thanks for reading,
Avani
