Luxe Makeup Favourites (And The Affordable Alternatives)

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette, Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, The Balm's Mary LouManizer, Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette, Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara

I love high end makeup. There is something so magical about the look and feel of high end makeup. However, I can't afford to spend £40 on an eyeshadow or lipstick every week. Wouldn't that be nice though?! Today I'm sharing some of my favourite high end makeup products and the more affordable alternatives I associate with them.

I just want to put this out there. These aren't dupes. They're very similar, but I wouldn't call them dupes. There's a lot of debate on whether dupes are appropriate which is honestly not something I want to wade into. These products are similar in effect, sometimes colour but they aren't clones of high end products. Waffle over!

The Balm's Mary LouManizer:

This is such a famous highlighter. In fact, it's the highlighter that made me love highlighters. Mary LouManizer is a beautiful smooth gold powder that is so creamy and easy to blend. It's dramatic yet very wearable and looks absolutely gorgeous on the skin.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette (Golden Bronze):

The highlight shade in this palette is so similar to Mary LouManizer. It's silky smooth and there are no big chunks of glitter. The only difference is that this one is ever so slightly cooler than the Balm's. However, once on the skin, you can't really tell.

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette:

This is such a stunning palette. Four shades to take you from dawn to dusk. Desk to party. I love how soft and buildable the shades are and that glitter, wow! It's beautiful. All four shades are long wearing and are so easy to use. You don't have to be an expert to use these.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows:

MUG have a whole load of shades and you could probably find something similar to all of the Charlotte Tilbury shades. However, the four I'm talking about are Shimma Shimma, Goddess, Pretentious and Flamethrower. They're very very similar to the CT Dolce Vita ones and the quality is just as good, maybe even better. Although they only come in individual pans, it's still more affordable then the higher end palette. The glitter is the hardest one to recreate but the Foiled MUG eyeshadows are similar in effect. Intense and sparkly. Flamethrower is not an exact colour replicate, but it's similar in tone to the CT glitter.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara:

Curly. Long. Lashes. Who doesn't want that?! That's the dream. And Roller Lash is the product to get it done. It's a lovely light formula that packs a punch and really lifts the lashes.

Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara:

If there was a ever a brand to rival Benefit for mascara, it would be Max Factor. Clump Defy is so similar to Roller Lash I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference between the two.

What are your favourite high end makeup products?
