My French Pharmacy Skincare Picks #1

Whenever I'm asked about skincare, I always direct people to French pharmacy brands. There is something about affordable French skincare that is so much better than other affordable brands at the drugstore. They're more innovative and offer a much wider range for different skin types.  In this series, I'm sharing a few of my top picks.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Hand Cream: (£6.50)

I've been using this hand cream for as long as I've been blogging, which is nearly three years. It's very hydrating and nourishing, without being greasy. What I love most about this hand cream is that it's very healing. When my eczema flares up on my hands, this completely clears it up. I've given a tube of this stuff to everyone I know, and they all love it too. It's magic in a bottle.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Plus: (£15.50)

I think this might have been the first 'hyped' about product I bought when I became interested in beauty. It's a very lightweight cream/gel that helps fight breakouts and fade scars. The reason this is one of my top picks is that it works so quickly. There is no other product in my skincare cabinet that stops breakouts as quickly and effectively as this. Within a week, my spots are gone and scars are already fading. I don't use it every day, but I always have a tube in the cupboard.

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask: (£14.00)

If you're looking for a clay mask that is going to get deep down and cleanse your skin, look no further. It really purifies the skin making it feel and look clearer. My skin really glows after I use this and I see such a difference in both the appearance and texture of my skin if I use it regularly. I particularly like how easy it is to remove. You don't need to tug at the skin at all.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum: (£22.50)

This is a great example of affordable skincare done well. Vichy has managed to create a serum for people with dry skin that deeply hydrates, without feeling heavy or greasy. The formula is quite sophisticated and not all that dissimilar to the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Although it's a little higher in price than 'typical' drugstore, it's still a great bargain and no where near as expensive as it should be, given the quality.
