Monthly Favourites: November 2016

Can you believe November is done and dusted?! What madness is that?! It's time to round up my favourites of the past month.

If you saw my most recent haul and review, then you'll know how much I adore Makeup Geek. My current favourite eyeshadows are Pretentious (a neutral gold with olive undertones), Anarchy (a subtle berry shimmer), Wild West (a matte pinky brown) and Roulette (a medium copper with rosy undertones).

I've also been enjoying the Makeup Geek contour powder in Complicated which is my perfect everyday contour. I realise I say that about every contour I own, but this is near perfect. It's completely matte and ashy without being too ashy. It doesn't make my skin look flat and is so easy to blend. To apply it, I've been favouring the Real Techniques Contour Brush which is just the perfect shape and density. It's small and fluffy so you can easily blend and soften the harsh lines.

The Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum is the only lipstick I've been wearing this month. It is the perfect everyday low maintenance Autumn shade. As the same would suggest, it's a sheer plum lipstick that's just so wearable. It keeps my lips nice and hydrated throughout the day which is also a bonus because my lips get so dry this time of year.

I've been painting my nails a lot and more recently I've been reaching for the OPI RapiDry Top Coat. I use this in particular when I'm using a thicker nail polish. If I were to use an equally thick top coat, it would just smudge on me. This one is really fast drying and quite thin. It still makes my nails look glossy and helps the polish last longer.

I've got a candle favourite which is unusual for me. I love candles, I just never seem to buy or use them for some reason. The Amphora Aromatics Limited Orange and Clove candle was part of an awesome gift my best friend got me for my birthday back in April. I loved it at first scent, but was waiting for this time of year to burn it. It kicks off so much scent, it's just beautiful. It's not overpowering and pretty much smells like Christmas. It's definitely been getting me into the festive spirit.

My blogger/Youtuber of the month is Lydia Elise Millen. First up, her photos give me life. Seriously. They are stunning. Lydia is a fashion and beauty blogger/vlogger who loves luxury handbags. I know there's been a lot of debate amongst the community over luxe bloggers and vloggers promoting a life that is unrealistic for most. I agree to an extent, but I think that it depends on the person. The luxe channels and blogs I love aren't like that. They work hard, much like everyone else. Lydia is a prime example of that. You can tell by her content which is always well thought out and always such high quality. She's also gained a large amount of subscribers in a relatively small amount of time, which I think is a testament to how dedicated and hard working she is. She's also really grateful for everything she has and doesn't expect anything handed to her. I love Lydia's personality and she's someone I could imagine being friends with in real life.

So that's it for another monthly favourites. I can't believe I've only got one more to do this year! Seriously, how did that happen?!

What have you been loving throughout November?

Thanks for reading,
Avani
