Updated Skincare Routine (2016)
I think the last time I did a skincare routine was around Christmas 2015. A lot has changed since then, so I thought why not do another post!
I really don't change my skincare routine often because once I find something I love, I stick with it. In other words, you probably won't see another skincare routine for another year! Saying that, I do buy a lot of skincare, which you can read about in my New Skincare Additions series. Waffling aside, let's do this!
Niod Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate:
This is the newest addition to my skincare routine and I've been using it for a couple months. It's an eye oil that you'd use in the same way as an eye cream. It's very hydrating and you literally need one drop to do both eyes. It makes such a difference to the texture of the skin around my eyes. I have a review coming up soon, so keep an eye out for that. See what I did there? Yep, that was a bad joke.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum: (post)
I love this serum as it's lightweight, but very hydrating. It's quite similar to Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, but for a fraction of the price. It leaves a nice base for moisturiser and feels soothing on the skin.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream: (post)
I use this as my day cream as it's a no fuss no frills moisturiser. It keeps my very dry skin hydrated all day and ensures a nice base for makeup. Despite being rich, it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. They also have a lighter option available which would be great for combination skin.
Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil: (post)
I'm still in love with this. I use 2-3 drops at night instead of moisturiser and what a difference it makes. My skin is plump, smooth and so radiant by morning. It also fades any marks lingering around which is a huge bonus.
Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial: (post)
I completely forgot to include this in the photo, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. If I'm not using the Trilogy Rose Oil, I'm using this. It's a serum, moisturiser and oil in one so you don't need any of that other stuff when using it. It's quite thick, but not in a heavy way and makes the skin look and feel healthy. Hello good skin day!
I purposely didn't include my cleansers or toner because that hasn't changed since last year. If you're new round these parts, I use the Una Brennan Rose Hydrating Creamy Cleanser in the morning and the Clinique Take the Day Off Balm cleanser at night. I tone with Pixi Glow Tonic every single night. I also want to give an honourable mention to La Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo Plus. It's a life saver when I'm breaking out.
I always feel like I use way too many products when I put together a skincare routine. I promise it doesn't feel like that when I'm actually using them! In fact, it only takes me a couple of minutes start to finish. I'm a big believer in spending a bit more on skincare, be it time or money. If you take care of your skin, your makeup will always look better.
What's in your skincare routine?
Thanks for reading,
Avani

I'm a long-time fan of the Vichy serum but have recently switched to Avene's which is similar but even more soothing! I absolutely love the Trilogy rose hip oil and know I'll get so much use out of it as the weather gets colder
