Monthly Favourites: July 2015

I have a lot of favourites so let's gets started!

Makeup:

L'oreal has been hitting it out of the park for me this month. First up we have the Colour Riche Mono eyeshadow in Pin Up Pink which is the most pretty sheer pink with a golden shimmer running through it. It's not the most pigmented shade, but if leaves a lovely glow to the lids. You can wear it on its own or on top of any other shade to add a bit of extra something to a look.

Sticking with the L'oreal theme, their new Brow Artist Genius Kits have seriously upped the drugstore brow game. The kits come with a coloured wax and powder. I'm not so keen on the wax as it doesn't do anything for me, but the powder is just perfection. It's ashy and easy to blend and looks really natural through the brows. If you'd like to see swatches, I reviewed it last week.

Max Factor's Clump Defy Water Resistant Mascara has got to be my favourite drugstore mascara. It lengths the lashes and adds volume without clumping. It's also long lasting without being a pain to remove. What more could I want in a mascara? Plus it's a dupe for Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara.

I've been really into red lips this month and my favourite summer combination is the Revlon Matte Balm in Striking with the Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon on top. I love using the matte balm all over the lips with the lip butter in the centre. It's creates a long lasting orangey red lip and if the colour fades, I only have to top up with the lip butter.

Skincare:

My skin has been all over the place this month so I've tried to simplify my routine as much as possible. The two products that have massively helped are Serozinc and Effaclar Duo Plus both from La Roche Posay. Both work brilliantly at calming existing breakouts and fading leftover scars.

Other:

MegSays was the first person I discovered through the online beauty community who also has the chronic illness ME. I've been a fan of hers for sometime now and she recently reached 13K subscribers on Youtube. Meg is such a lovely girl and her videos are charming. I always think it's incredible how someone who is going through something really difficult, can spread so much happiness to others. I know how hard it must be for her to film videos so Meg, if you read this, you're awesome and thank you for raising awareness for such a horrible condition.

That's it for another month. Let me know what you've been loving this month and I hope you all have a lovely August!

Thanks for reading,
Avani
xoxo
