Updated Morning Skincare Routine (Winter Edition)

With Winter in full swing, my skincare changes. Today is all about the products I use in the morning.

I did one of these posts back in Spring so it's about time I updated it. Things have changed quite a bit since my last post. My skin is still dry but I'd say it's leaning more on the normal side. I've also been breaking out quite a bit due to my health problems so I've tried to simplify my routine. Anyway, enough waffle, let's do this.

Cleanser:
This hasn't changed. I'm still using (and loving) the Una Brennan Rose Hydrating Creamy Cleanser (£7.99). This is the perfect morning cleanser. It effectively cleans the skin whilst still being creamy and hydrating. I apply a small amount on my dry face and remove it with a damp face cloth. Done!

Toner:
The Body Shop Aloe Toner (£8.50) has stolen my heart. It really has. It's a great toner. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and lovely.

Eye Cream:
I've been cheating on my Estee Lauder Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion with the Origins Eye Doctor Eye Cream (£28.50). I will be posting a full review of this soon but right now, I love it. It's really hydrating and soothing.

Serum:
The Perricone MD Chia Serum (£62) is where it's at. This is so nourishing and gives me that lovely glow. It's the perfect winter serum. My skin literally drinks it up. I use one drop in the morning and press it into the face and neck.

Moisturiser:
This Winter, I've been loving the Yes to Carrots Day Cream (£9.99). It's a good basic moisturiser. It's hydrating and creamy but not greasy. I use about half a pump or less for my face. That is literally all you need!

Now you may notice that there is no SPF included in this routine. I know it's important, I do. However, I rarely leave the house due to my ME and you need at least 15 minutes unprotected in the sun each day. As someone who is very deficient in Vitamin D, those rays are important. It doesn't make sense for me to wear an SPF if I'm going to be out in the sun for 5 minutes. You can get much needed Vitamin D from any part of exposed skin. In winter, that's my face. The rest of me is covered so if I'm out, no I don't wear an SPF unless I'm in strong sunlight for longer than 15 minutes. I understand that this is controversial but it is my personal opinion. You don't have to agree with me and I'm definitely not an expert in this matter.

All that being said, if you have a face SPF that you love that doesn't break you out, please leave any recommendations. I have yet to find one that agrees with my skin.

Thanks for reading,
Avani
xoxo
