Tried and Tested: Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

Cleansing balms and creams are very new to me. I used to use a foaming cleanser (oh the horror!) until I switched to a cream cleanser and now I'm onto balms. Today I'm going to share my thoughts on the Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm.

"Lightweight cleansing balm quickly dissolves stubborn eye and face makeups, including those with sunscreen. Transforms from a solid balm to a silky, fluid oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. For all skin types." - from the Clinique website.

I completely agree with the above statement from Clinique. This is a very lightweight yet effective cleansing balm. It cleanses the skin without stripping it and hydrates it without leaving behind a residue. The only part I disagree with, is rinsing it off. I much prefer to remove all my cleansers with a hot damp face cloth, but that's just preference.

Now I don't use this to remove my makeup, however, I do think it would be very good at it. It turns into a really nice oil that would work well at breaking down mascara and eyeliner. The packaging is nice too, although probably not the most travel friendly!

I  don't have anything bad to say about this cleanser. It's £22 which is quite steep but you get a lot of product and you only need a tiny amount to thoroughly cleanse your entire face. I also like that it doesn't have a scent. Nowadays everything smells of something so it's nice that this doesn't. This really is a cleanser that would suit all skin types.

What's your favourite cleansing balm? I'm dying to try the Emma Hardie one!

Thanks for reading,
