Monthly Favourites: August 2014

August is over and Autumn is looming. Let's talk about everything I've been loving this month.

Makeup:

If you follow me on Twitter, then you'll know that August was a rough month for me. My ME flared up big time which meant I spent most of the month in bed not wearing makeup. However, when I did wear makeup, I always used the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in 'Rose Gold.' This is such a beautiful rose gold; I'd say it's more rose than gold but it's the perfect shade for all over the lid. It's more subtle than Urban Decay's 'Trick' and works well on every skin tone. The pigmentation is fantastic; it's buttery and smooth and just perfection! 

For nails, I have been wearing Tanya Burr's nail polish in 'Bright and Early' all month. It's the perfect pinky coral with a hint of red. It enhances your skin tone in the best way and looks stunning on the nails. I love the formulation of these polishes and if you want to find out more, you can read my full review here. 

Skincare:

I recently bought the Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm and I think it's fantastic. I've got a full review coming up next Friday so I won't go into too much detail here. All I'm going to say is it leaves the skin feeling clean but hydrated. 

Body:

I have been using the Anatomicals Body Wash* all month and I love it. The formula is lovely; it foams up nicely but doesn't dry the skin out. I suffer from eczema and this body wash didn't aggravate it. If anything, I think it helped it. It left my skin feeling so hydrated. Oh and it smells delicious. 

Other:

As I mentioned earlier, I've spent most of August in bed which has meant I've been watching a lot of TV and Youtube videos. Hannah Maggs has fast become one of my favourite youtubers. She does weekly vlogs with her husband and eight month old son. I absolutely love watching her videos and it's such a pleasure to watch her family grow. My TV favourite has got to be Gossip Girl. I bought the box set and I have just been watching it non stop. I love the drama, the fashion and of course, the Blair and Chuck love story.
