Tried and Tested: Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme Mask

I never thought I would use an exfoliating enzyme mask but then I tried this one and well, everything changed!

The Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme Mask (£30) is basically a fruit enzyme mask that gently detaches your dead skin cells and promotes cell renewal to help achieve younger looking skin. I can't comment on the younger looking skin part (I'm only 19) but this mask definitely makes my skin feel and look noticeably smoother. For something so gentle, it does a bloomin' good job!

Although it sounds scary, don't be put off. I think this would suit sensitive skin just fine because the main enzymes in the mask come from Papaya and Pineapple. I don't know anything about the science behind it but I think that's what makes it so gentle.

It's quite an easy mask to use but it's not one that you can put on and leave for a certain amount of time whilst you do something else. You need to massage in onto clean dry skin, let it sit for 2 minutes then activate it by massaging your face with damp fingertips for 3-5 minutes. After that, you have to let it sit for a further 2 minutes then remove it with a dampened face cloth. I do this about once a week depending on how my skin is looking and feeling; if my skin is looking a bit dull then I use it a couple times a week.

The only major downside is that it's not the easiest mask to get hold of. I purchased mine in South Africa at the hotel where we were staying. In the UK, you can get it from one salon in Basingstoke but that's not really local to me! It's such a shame because I love this mask. It's not too expensive either and you can buy refills for only £20.

If you can get your hands on it then do it, even if you have sensitive skin. This is such a good mask that I really can't fault.

Have you got any exfoliating enzyme masks that you recommend? I need suggestions!

Thanks for reading,
Avani
