Tried and Tested: Urban Decay Naked Palette

I know what you're thinking, not another person raving about the Urban Decay Naked Palette (£37). I'm sorry, I can't help it! With the release of the Naked 3 palette in December, I thought I would share my thoughts on the one that started it all.....

The palette comes with 12 beautifully buttery shades (including two matte colours), suitable for all skin tones. It also comes with a flat shader brush and their famous Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Although £37 may seem pretty steep, you do get a lot of bang for your buck!

Here are swatches of the 12 shades (without primer):
Colours from left to right: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal.

As you can see, they are all incredibly pigmented (even without primer) and blend beautifully. My favourite shades are Sin, Buck and Half Baked but looking at the swatches, I'm not sure why I don't use the others more regularly.

Let's start with Sin, a pink champagne colour that swept all over the lid provides a gorgeous sheen. This is my go to shade which I've used countless times as it gives a little 'somethin somethin' to the eyes. It's the perfect everyday colour.

Onto Buck, a buttery chocolate brown, perfect for the crease. It adds beautiful definition to the eyes and combined with either Sin or Naked, the other matte shade, it's ideal for everyday wear. Tip: depending on hair colour, both Naked and Buck make good eyebrow shades.

Where to begin with Half Baked? I adore this gold shadow. Shimmery but not glittery or chunky. I really feel like this shade livens up a look. It looks beautiful all over the lid or just used in the center to add a Charlotte Tilbury esque 'pop' to the eyes.

So there you have it, my Urban Decay Naked Palette review. It's seen a lot of love and will continue to for years to come.

What do you think of this cult product? Do you think it's worth the hype? Now I'm off to drool over pictures of the Naked 3....

Thanks for reading,
Avani
