Tried and Tested: La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Plus

Although the Effaclar range from La Roche Posay is targeted for oily skin, I still love their original Effaclar Duo. It's meant to clear up blemishes, unclog pores and absorb excess oil. I can't comment on the oil part because I have dry skin but the blemishes and and pores part, I completely agree with. My pores in particular look much smaller when I use this product. So when I heard about the release of Effaclar Duo Plus, I was pretty excited!

This is meant to do everything the original did but also fade marks. I'm one of those people who every time they get a blemish, gets a scar afterwards. Now I don't break out too badly, only at particular times of the month, if you get my drift girls. It claims to reduce redness over 24 hours and reduce scars within 8 days. Those are some huge claims so naturally the blogger in me thought 'let's put this to the test!'

As you can see from the before picture, my skin was pretty crazy. I had a few active breakouts and several scars.

The next shot is after 24 hours:

This final shot is after 8 days:

I really love this product! It's pretty impressive in my opinion. After the 8 days, my skin was much calmer and clearer. It just looked better. I think that with continued use, this is really going to help fade my scars. I apply this morning and night and I notice a difference in my skin when I don't. The texture is ever so slightly thicker than it's predecessor but it is no way heavy or greasy so it would definitely work on an oily skin. I think it's a tad more hydrating too so if you have super oily skin, this is probably enough of a moisturiser in the morning.

Overall, I really enjoy using this product. I didn't think you could beat the original but La Roche Posay really nailed it with this one. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The price point is fantastic too ranging from £13.15-£15.50 depending on where you buy it from. As with all my La Roche Posay products, I purchased it from Escentual.com.

What do you think about this product? I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments!

Thanks for reading,
Avani
