2016 Skincare And Haircare Favourites

Following on from Monday's post which covered makeup, today's post is all about the skincare and haircare products I adored during 2016.

Niod Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate:

I think this just might be one of the best eye creams/oils I've ever used. It's so hydrating and makes such a difference to how makeup applies under the eyes. You apply just one drop under the eyes and on the eyelids. Trust me, one drop is enough to do both eyes. Despite being an oil, it's not greasy or heavy and has really helped get rid of any darkness on my eye lids. Over time it's definitely helped with any puffiness too.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Eye Contour Cream*:

This is also such a great eye cream and I often alternate between this and the Niod one. The Toleriane range has been specifically designed for people with sensitive intolerant skin. It's ideal if you have any allergies and even if you don't it's a brilliant eye cream. It's very hydrating, sinks in quickly and lasts ages. Fun fact, I filmed with La Roche Posay for their Youtube channel earlier on in the year for the Toleriane range. You can watch that here. Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial:

If there's one skincare product that stood out for me in 2016, it's this. I use it several times a week, probably more than I should! It's designed to be an all in one serum, moisturiser and oil that deeply hydrates the skin overnight leaving it plumped and glowy by morning. Boy does it work. One pump and my skin is transformed. It's also the perfect product when you're feeling a little lazy, but still want to take care of your skin. You just need to cleanse, pop on an eye cream and this and you're done.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum:

Vichy is a brand I've always wanted to try, but until 2016 I never got round to it. I don't know what took me so long but now Vichy is in my life, I'm not letting it go. The Aqualia range in general is incredible, but the serum is particularly good. It's very similar to Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, but for a fraction of the price. It's very thin and hydrating and feels really cooling on the skin. Whatever I put on top seems to work that much better when I use it too.

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask:

I love this clay mask so much. It makes my skin feel so cleansed and amazing and makes it look even better. I apply a generous layer all over my face with a foundation brush and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. It's very easy to remove, you definitely don't need to tug at the skin with this one. My skin feels so smooth afterwards and it keeps breakouts at bay. I try and use this a couple of times a week and when my skin is feeling (and looking) crap, I crack this out and it whips it into shape.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask:

This mask is very similar to the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (which I still love). It exfoliates in two ways; using acids and volcanic ash. Despite being very effective, it's gentle and doesn't sting or irritate the skin at all. My skin looks so much more radiant after I've used this and makeup applies like a dream too.

GHD Aura Hairdryer:

As ridiculous as it sounds, this hairdryer has changed my life. I know that's quite the sweeping the statement, but it's true. I used to dread having to wash my thick unruly curly hair. If I had an event to go to, I'd always get my hair done because it would take hours to wash, dry and then style. The GHD Aura Hairdryer completely changed all of that. I can blow dry my hair completely straight (but not flat) in about 10 minutes which is incredible. It also adds a gorgeous shine and makes my hair so smooth. The result honestly looks like I've had a professional blow dry. Of course, that kind of quality does come at a price, £125 to be exact. However, if you have very difficult hair, you'll understand when I say it is a solid investment. You know something's good when your hairdresser compliments your hair!

Bourjois Fast Dry Nail Drops (not pictured):

This is basically the product that makes me want to paint my nails. I hate waiting for them to dry and I hate spending time painting them, for them to smudge overnight. Duvet marks anyone? These drops take care of all of that. One drop on each nail and the polish is dry in seconds. It's easy to use and it does the job. What's not to like?!

Beauty Blender Cleanser:

Baby shampoo can sod right off because there's a new cleanser in town for my makeup brushes. I was so sceptical about this before I tried it, but it really does make a difference. It makes light work of washing my brushes and cleans them so much better than baby shampoo ever did.

I can't believe I've summed up all of my beauty loves of the past year into two posts. I hope I've not missed anything out! I am so excited to see what the next year brings for all things beauty.
