Winter Makeup Menu
Winter isn't coming, it's here! Winter is one of my favourite seasons because, well, Christmas of course! This time of year is the perfect excuse to go all out with your makeup. I'm talking glitter, shimmer and all the berry lipstick. Can you tell I'm excited?
Much like my Autumn Makeup Menu, I'm not going to go into detail with my foundation and concealer. It's the same thing all year round; Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream and Urban Decay's Naked Skin Concealer. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit.
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Gorgeous Berries:
I must admit that this shade looks terrifying in the pan. It's very pigmented and vibrant. However, if you use a small brush and a light hand, it looks incredibly natural. Once blended out, it really does look like a natural winter blush shade, like you've been for a long walk in the blissful winter sunshine. It's so pretty and so affordable too. I love the marble effect with the shimmer running through it as it's very natural and not glittery at all.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop:
Oh my! Since winter houses both Christmas and New Year, what else could it be?! This is the kind of highlight you can see from space, but I must admit, that's why I love it. Since it's a peachy gold, it's very flattering on my skin tone too.
Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette:
This is an oldie, but a goodie. It's full of shimmery shades which scream winter to me. The shades I use in particular are Smog, Darkhorse and of course Half Baked. Half Baked is my absolute favourite as it's a very vibrant bright gold. I've not found another gold like it. It's so buttery smooth and the shimmer is intense.
Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette:
Where do I begin with this? Four shades that take you from day to night housed in a pretty little palette. Let's address the elephant in the room, that glitter! The words golden, bronzy and beautiful come to mind. It's intense yet not in your face. The perfect 'pop' shade for the centre of the lid. Try applying it damp, I dare you! It's incredible. As for the other shades, I love them. They're soft and build able and I think the colour combination is just right as it offers warm and slightly cooler tones too.
Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Iris:
I typically shy away from bold lipsticks with a creamy finish, but this one was too pretty to skip. It's a stunning berry with purple undertones. It really makes your lips look incredible. The fact that it's creamy means you can wear it as a stain and sheer it out. I just love that versatility. You could even wear it as a cream blusher.
KIKO Creamy Colour Lip Liner in 313 Sangria:
Apparently this lovely liner does have a name and isn't just called 313! I don't like it when brands just number a product instead of giving it a proper name. Anyway, this lip liner is my current go to. It's a typical winter shade in that it's dark and a berry but it's so easy to apply. I love wearing it on its own as a bold lip because it lasts all day with very little maintenance.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry:
This is actually a very similar colour to Iris, except it's matte and darker. It's a lovely luxury lipstick that would make an excellent gift for Christmas. The formula is incredible because whilst it's matte, it's very comfortable and non drying and you guessed it, it's very long lasting.
I'd love to know what makeup you recommend and gravitate towards for this time of year. My collection could do always do with a few extra products!
Thanks for reading,
Avani

I love warm eyes and lots of highlighting for this time of year :) Dolce Vita and Champagne Pop are pretty much the epitome of that look!
