Everyday Autumn Makeup Routine

With only a few weeks left of Autumn (sob!) I thought I'd better hurry up and share my everyday makeup routine. I do change my makeup preferences with the seasons, but if I'm honest, it's not a big change. On an everyday basis, I prefer the same look, minimal makeup for a fresh and glowy complexion. I do tend to play around with eye makeup a lot during Autumn so I thought it would be more interesting to include those products today.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream:

Although I'm more inclined to use CC creams during the warmer months, this one is the exception. It offers me such a lovely base that I reach for it all year round. It has a satin medium coverage finish but is weightless on the skin. It's my feel good foundation. I typically use about a pump or just over for everyday. I also prefer to blend it in with my Beauty Blender for a natural but flawless finish.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer:

I'm a big fan of this stuff. It is probably the best concealer I've used as it gives me full coverage, but doesn't cake up. Despite having a nice creamy texture, it doesn't crease either. I use this under the eyes, around the nose and on any blemishes. I use a mixture of my Beauty Blender and Real Techniques Setting Brush to blend it in.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit:

I'm not a going to lie, I bloody love this palette. Yes it was horrendously expensive, but I use it all the time. On an everyday basis, I reach for the bronzer (Luminous Bronze Light) and the blush (Mood Exposure). The bronzer is quite warm, but it doesn't lean too dark which is why I prefer it over my Bourjois one for the cooler months. Mood Exposure is such a 'me' colour; a mauvey pink with a slight shimmer running through it. I can't get over how much I love this palette. That being said, I decided to skip their 2016 Holiday palette as I've heard mixed things about the shades. It does look stunning but I can't justify spending £70 on one palette. It took everything to tear me away from that marble packaging though!

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette in Golden Bronze:

I use this little palette in conjunction with the Hourglass one depending on my mood. I love the contour shade as it's very ashy and looks really natural blended into the hollows of my cheeks using the Real Techniques Contour Brush. If I don't use Mood Exposure, I'll use this blush. Although it's a very summery colour, the peachy golden tones help brighten the complexion. The highlighter is also gorgeous. Gold and shimmery. Need I say more? Well yes as it's a good dupe for The Balm's MaryLou Manizer.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows in Glamorous and Goddess:

I'll switch up which one I use depending on the day. Glamorous is a medium gold with slight bronzy tones and is a great everyday all over the lid shade. It looks really lovely on all skin tones and whilst being a shimmer, it's not in your face. Goddess is a very warm copper brown shimmer that again, looks lovely swept over the lids. It's a quintessentially Autumn eyeshadow in that it's a bit gold, a bit orange and a bit rusty. Both are easy to blend and are very smooth. Sometimes I'll add a bit of brown eyeliner right into the roots of the lashes. You can't really tell it's there, but it makes the lash line look a bit thicker and isn't as harsh as black. I'm quite messy when I apply it and use my finger to blend it out.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara:

Hands down one of the best mascaras. It gives you such full fluttery lashes and I always go back to it. I'm really intrigued by the newer version they have out too, so I may just have to pick that up!

Revlon Sugar Plum Lip Butter:

I love this colour as it's an easy everyday sheer plum. You don't have to think about it when you apply and wear it and it instantly updates your makeup to Autumn.

Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Stick in Nudist:

I've included this because it's the lipstick I'm likely to be carrying around in my handbag. It's so natural and adds a lovely gloss to the lips. I absolutely love it!

Phew! That was a bit of a beast to write. It's not until you write out your makeup routine that you realise you probably use more than you need to. Oops. This is such a fail safe routine and it doesn't take me long to apply either. I desperately wanted to get a picture of me wearing the look so you could see the products on, but truthfully, I've been so busy! If I get the chance, I might pop one up on Instagram. Do be sure to follow me on there and never miss a post by following me on Bloglovin. What's your everyday Autumn makeup routine like?

  3. Lovely makeup, I only have Pink Truffle Lip Butter, must pick up Plum too. It looks gorgeous, I haven't tried the CC cream, I am not a fan of Bourjois to be honest, but now I am curious to give this base a try. Beautiful post, thanks for sharing x

    1. I find Bourjois a bit hit and miss, but they do have some fantastic products. The CC cream is excellent, just wish it came in more shades so more people could use it. Thank you so much! x
